Before the Haitian Revolution there where three social classes the white men. the Mulattoes, and the slaves. The white men used to control the colored but now the there are none. The white men are either dead, hiding or fled the island. Lowest social class, the slaves, became free and equal to the dominating order of society. Because of the Haitian Revolution the social class changed from the the white men being dominate to none and the colored going from slave to citizen. All citizens where equal now but the colored where not to kind to the whites.
Before the Haitian Revolution slaves and Mulattoes had no say in the Haitian society. They where not allowed to hold a seat in office. Only the whites had seats in office and could have a say in the Haitian society. After the revolution the second independent state in the Western Hemisphere was formed. The slaves and Mulattoes established the first free black nation and defined themselves a Haitian. They finally had the power to establish themselves a nation of free blacks. All citizens where equal no matter what color. This was the political effect.
The Haitian Revolution also had an affect on the economics. However the economics always revolved around plantations. Before the revolution the standard plantation economic system was in place. Plantation owners would export goods. Once the revolution ended the economic system was horrible. No one was in charge, there where no systems or structure. The Haitian fixed that by having again plantations but not exporting the goods. Instead the products where sold with in there nation. The effect the Haitian Revolution had on the economics.
